The County of Haliburton is a popular tourist and cottage area in Central Ontario, known for its beautiful scenery and resident artists.
With a combined population of just over 18,000, communities in the County include Haliburton, Minden, Wilberforce, Gooderham, Irondale, Cardiff, West Guilford, Eagle Lake, and Fort Irwin.
Since budgeting with Excel spreadsheets is time consuming and error prone, the County Treasurer was looking for a better way to develop, manage, and report on their $26.6 million dollar budget. Following a demonstration of Questica Budget, the County made the decision to implement Questica Budget’s Operating, Salaries, and Capital modules. Questica Budget will integrate with the County’s USTI financial system and help them address a number of specific requirements, including:
- Implementing a 5-year forecast along with their annual budget to support the County’s focus on sustainability.
- Streamlining the budgeting process by eliminating spreadsheets and improving accuracy and efficiency.
- Employing a collaborative approach to budgeting that allows staff to enter their information directly into an easy-to-use multi-user system.
- Achieving better analysis, visibility and ability to drill down into budget details including historical YTD actuals and variances.
